Question | Answer |
Polynomial | An expression made with constants, variables and exponents, which are combined using addition, subtraction and multiplication, ... but not division. |
Constant | A fixed value. Ex: 3 |
Variable | A symbol for a number we don't know yet. It is usually a letter like x or y. |
Exponent | Shows you how many times the number is to be used in a multiplication. It is written as a small number to the right and above the base number. |
Monomial | A polynomial with one term. Ex: 3x |
Binomial | A polynomial with 2 terms. EX: 3x+2 |
Trinomial | A polynomial with 3 terms. Ex: 3x+2y+4 |
