personification | a type of figurative language in which something that is non-human is given human characteristics |
protagonist | usually the main character and good guy in the story |
setting | the time and place in which a story takes place |
simile | a type of figurative language in which two unlike things are compared while using the words LIKE or AS |
symbol | The use of a thing or object or idea to represent something else |
theme | An idea about life revealed in a story; a story can have more than one of these |
