Slope-Intercept Form- y=mx+b or f(x)=mx+b Linear Function- a function with an equation of the form y=mx+b | Definition-- |_x_|= the greatest integer less than or equal to x, also the rounding down function or floor function.

Theorem-- if two lines have the same slope, then they are parrallel. Theorem-- if two non-vertical lines are parrallel, then they have the same slope. |

Linear Combination- an expression of the from Ax+By is called linear combination of x and y. |
🗑
Standard Form for an Equation for a line- when A and B are not both zero, the equation Ax+By=C is called Standard Form for an Equation for a line. Theorem-- the graph of Ax+By=C, where A and B are not both 0, is a line. |

X-Intercept- the value of x at hte point where a graph crosses the x-axiz. Has second coordinate 0. Y-Intercept- b, which is the value of y when x=0, corresponds to the initial value of the dependent value. |
🗑
Point-Slope Theorem- if a line contains (x1, y1) and has slope m, then it has equation y-y1=m(x-x1), this is also called Point Slope Equation. |

Scatterplot- a graph where points are random but correspond to data and do not connect. |
