|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Rome | A strong city in Italy. Unified all of Italy's many communities under its rule and eventually conquer Greece itself.
🗑
| Sicily | A popular destination for ancient Greek colonists because of its rich farmland. The island to the west of the "boot" on the Italian peninsula.
🗑
| Alps Mountains | Stand at the northern border of present day Italy. Europe's highest mountain range. These mountains wall off the Italian peninsula from the rest of Europe.
🗑
| Apennine Mountains | Mountain range in Italy. Form a giant "backbone" through the Italian peninsula. Their towering height makes it difficult to travel across the peninsula. Lack rich soil, so there is more sheep herding than farming on the mountainsides.
🗑

| Latium | An important fertile plain in Italy. Located on the west coast of central Italy.
🗑
