Cuspid (canine)   heavy anterior tooth with a long thick root located at the corners of the mouth. There is one in each quadrant.

Bicuspid (premolar)   permanent dentition only; these posterior teeth are used for tearing and chewing. There are two in each quadrant.

Molar   a large posterior tooth with a broad chewing surface. There are three in each quadrant.

Wisdom Tooth (third molar)   the most posteriorly located molar.

Single Root   teeth which have one root./ Lateral incisors, Cuspids, Maxillary 2nd Bicuspids, Mandibular Bicuspids.

Triple Root   teeth which have three roots.

Bifurcation   area on tooth where it divides into two roots.

Trifurcation   area on tooth which divides into three roots.
