Question
Answer
Superior to lateral end of inguinal groove, on lateral side of femoral artery, level with upper border of symphysis pubis, 3.5 cun lateral to Ren-2.   SP-12
🗑
2 cun directly below ST-30, on lateral border of abductor longus m. (2 cun below symphisis pubis)   LR-11
🗑
At junction of lateral 1/3 and medial 2/3 of distance between greater trochanter and hiatus of sacrum (Du-2). Locate in lateral recumbent position with thigh flexed.   GB-30
🗑
With knee flexed, 2 cun above mediosuperior border of patella, on bulge of medial portion of quadriceps femoris m. To find, flex knee, cup contralateral palm to knee, thumb on medial side, 4 fingers pointing up, thumb @ 45° to index. Thumb is on point.   SP-10
🗑
With knee flexed, 2 cun above laterosuperior border of patella.   ST-34
🗑
With knee flexed, in depression above medial end of transverse popliteal crease, posterior to medial epicondyle of femur, on anterior border of insertion of semimembranosus & semitendinosus m.   LR-8
🗑
NAVY. Which is between Nerve and Artery? Which is between Artery and Vein?   Femoral Nerve, Femoral Artery, Femoral Vein Y. SP-12 is between Nerve and Artery-- so STAY LATERAL to artery!! LR-11 is between Artery and Vein-- so STAY AWAY from lateral, to avoid artery.
🗑
Midpoint of transverse crease of popliteal fossa, between tendons of m. biceps femoris and m. semitendinosus.   UB-40
🗑
Lateral to UB-40 on medial border of m. biceps femoris (tendon).   UB-39
🗑
With knee flexed, point is on medial side of popliteal fossa, between tendons of semimembranosus & semitendinosus muscles. (Midway between UB-40 and LR-8)   KD-10
🗑
Lower border of medial condyle of tibia, in depression on medial border of tibia.   SP-9
🗑
"Perpendicular 0.5-1.0 or prick to bleed"-- and its not LI-1.   UB-40
🗑
In depression anterior & inferior to head of fibula. (Kind of a mirror to SP-9.)   GB-34
🗑
3 cun below ST-35, one finger breadth from the anterior crest of tibia, in anterior tibialis muscle.   ST-36
🗑
3 cun below ST-36, one finger breadth from the anterior crest of tibia, in anterior tibialis muscle.   ST-37
🗑
So where is ST-35???   With knee flexed, at lower border of patella, in depression lateral to patellar ligament.
🗑
ST-35 is literally ON THE KNEE!! Even if it says ("lower border of patella, in depression lateral to patellar ligament"). What is the "mirror" point in the depression MEDIAL to the patellar ligament at lower border of patella?   It is an extraordinary point, and it is called Xi Yan.
🗑
8 cun superior to external malleolus, about one finger breadth lateral to ST-38   ST-40
🗑
2 cun below ST-37, midway between ST-35 and ST-41.   ST-38
🗑
7 cun above tip of external malleolus, on anterior border of fibula.   GB-36
🗑
7 cun above tip of external malleolous, on POSTERIOR border of fibula.   GB-35
🗑
Of the Stomach points 35-40, 35 is on lower border of patella "in the depression lateral to the patellar ligament," and ST-36, 37, and 39 are 3, 6, and 9 cun down. Where are ST-38 and ST-40?   ST-38 is 1 cun up from ST-39. ST-40 is on same level as ST-38 but "one finger breadth LATERAL to ST-38."
🗑
Stomach points on half: Which point is "halfway between lateral malleolus (more or less ST-41) and center of patella (more or less ST-35)?"   Actually, there are TWO: ST-38 and ST-40. Because ST-38 is 3+3+2 (=8) down from ST-35. And since distance from lateral malleolus to center of patella is 16 cun, ST-38 and ST-40 are at midpoint.
🗑
Anterior & posterior border of the fibula, 7 cun up. What is the anterior point? What is the posterior point?   Points up from GB 40 follow the "412" measurement system (or 3-1-1-2 if you want to include GB-39). The 4-1-2 points are 38-37-36. The 412 points are all on ANTERIOR border. GB-35 (like GB-39) are on POSTERIOR border. GB-35 is just behind GB-36.
🗑
If you see sural cutaneous nerve, what points would you think of (on our list)?   GB-35 (because it is on POSTERIOR border of fibula) and any of the head/belly of gastroc muscle UB point (55-56-57). Only one on our list, though, is UB-57: "directly below the belly of m. gastrocnemius."
🗑
Bonus points: Which point innervation description talks about the "bifurcation of the peroneal nerve into the superficial and deep peroneal nerve?"   GB-34!!
🗑
Great saphenous V, branch of genicular suprema A, posterior tibial A/V. (Hint: It's NOT LR-8, KD-10, UB-40 or UB-39...)   SP-9
🗑
Femoro-popliteal V. Deeper: popliteal V. Deepest: popliteal A.   UB-40
🗑
SuperoLATERAL genicular A/V. (The lateral part is key here...)   UB-39
🗑
Medial superior genicular A/V. Medial femoral cutaneous N. (You'd think it might include LR-8, but LR-8 has Saphenous V and Saphenous A.)   KD-10
🗑
Muscles: Sartorius, tendon of gracilis, semimembranosus, semitendinosus AND gastroc (medial head)   LR-8!!!
🗑
Muscles: Rectus femoris, vastus lateralis, tendon of vastus medialis, lateral collateral tendon of knee, (Think about where rectus femoris and vastus lateralis insert.)   ST-34
🗑
Muscles: This point has only ONE MUSCLE in the muscle box: Vastus medialis (medial is kind of key here-- but by itself might not be sufficient)   SP-10
🗑
Muscles: Biceps femoris (Hint: A/V are superolateral genicular; innervation is posterior FEMORAL cutaneous N and common peroneal N)   UB-39
🗑
Muscles: Tendons of semimembranosus AND semitendinosus. Gastroc medial head, posterior cruciate ligament.   KD-10
🗑
Muscles: Gluteus maximus and quadratus femoris   GB-30
🗑
Muslces: Adductor longus, adductor brevis, adductor magnus   LR-11
🗑
Only one of the SP-12 and LR-11 points includes, specifically, "Femoral A" and "Femoral N." Which is it?   SP-12
🗑
Which of the two crotch points, SP-12 and LR-11, are described by, "Branches of medial circuflex femoral A/V" and "Genitofemoral N, anterior femoral cutaneous N, branch of obturator N?"   LR-11 (because it's really in the genitals)
🗑
Which point on our list includes all these adductor muscles (longus, brevis, magnus)?   LR-11
🗑
Muscles: Tibialias anterior (so you know it must be a ST point), crural interosseus membrane, tibialis posterior   This is a tough one. It's good ole ST-36. But could also be ST-37. Even ST-38 and ST-39. Although once you get down to ST-39 and ST-40 (but not ST-38?), you also get extensor digitorum, extensor halucis muscles...
🗑
Only two points seem to mention Peroneus longus and/or Peroneus brevis. (The anterior of the two also has extensor digitorum and extensor hallucis longus; the posterior of the two has soleus!!)   GB-36 and GB-35 (35 is behind 36)
🗑
