---|---|---|---|---|---|
Random Sample | a sample in which each member of the population hasequal chance of being selected.
🗑
Population | the complete collection of the group to be studied.
🗑
Sample | part of the population.
🗑
Mean | the sum of the values divided by the number ofvalues in the data set.
🗑
Median | the middle value.
🗑
Mode | the value that occurs most often.Sometimes there is no mode.
🗑
Range | Find the difference between the least and greatest values.
🗑
Frequency Table | organizes data into groups.
🗑
Cumulative Frequency Table | includes a running total of the frequencies of all the previous groups.
🗑
Stem and Leaf Plot | shows how often data values occur and how they are distributed. Numbers are separated into two parts: the stem and the leaves. The stem shows the leftmost digit in each number, and the leaves show the rightmost digit in each number.
🗑
Bar Graph and Double Bar Graph | uses bars to compare data.A graph compares two sets of data.
🗑
Histogram | is used to represent data in a frequency table. The bars touch and both axes show numerical data.
🗑
Box and Whisker Plot | presents a summary of a set of data bypresenting the data in four equal parts.
🗑
Ways graphs can be misleading | • An axis is “broken” or numbers are left out on an axis.• The intervals on an axis are not the same length.• Different sizes are used to represent bars in a bar graph.• Pictorial graphs could distort the data.

Review the information in the table. When you are ready to quiz yourself you can hide individual columns or the entire table. Then you can click on the empty cells to reveal the answer. Try to recall what will be displayed before clicking the empty cell.
To hide a column, click on the column name.
To hide the entire table, click on the "Hide All" button.
You may also shuffle the rows of the table by clicking on the "Shuffle" button.
