*Membranes

        Help!

Question
Answer
Epithelial Layer sitting on a thin layer of?   Connective Tissue ( Lamina propria)
🗑
4 Types Of Membranes,/ what are they?   Mucous--Serous--Synovial--Cutaneous(skin)--
🗑
Mucous Membranes   Lines a body cavity that opens to the outside.(mouth, vagina, anus ect.-----------Epithelial cells form a Barrier to Microbes.- Tight junction between cells.-------------Mucous is secreted from underlying glands to keep surface moist.
🗑
Serous Membranes (Membrane on walls of cavity= Parietal layer and membrane over organs in cavity= Visceral layer).   Simple Squamous cells overlying loose Connective Layer.--- Squamous cells secrete slippery fluid.---Lines a body cavity that does NOT open to the outside such as a chest or abdominal cavity. Examples. Lungs(pleura),Peritoneum and Pericardium.
🗑
Synovial Membranes ( This is an exception of space that is not lined with Epithelial Tissue).   Lines joint cavities of all freely movable Joints. -- No epithelial cells lining this space.---Composed Connevtive Tissue that secretes Synovial Fluid containing Hyaluronic Acid and Interstital Fluid.--
🗑
Connective Tissue with a Liquid Matrix =   The Plasma
🗑
Red Blood cells =   Erythrocytes.. carry oxygen and co2, connective tissue
🗑
White Blood cells =   Leukocytes.. Fights Infections
🗑
Cell Fragments called =   Platelets... Clots

Review the information in the table. When you are ready to quiz yourself you can hide individual columns or the entire table. Then you can click on the empty cells to reveal the answer. Try to recall what will be displayed before clicking the empty cell.

To hide a column, click on the column name.

To hide the entire table, click on the "Hide All" button.

You may also shuffle the rows of the table by clicking on the "Shuffle" button.

Or sort by any of the columns using the down arrow next to any column heading.
If you know all the data on any row, you can temporarily remove it by tapping the trash can to the right of the row.
