| what are the primary colors? | red, yellow, blue.

| what is color? | an element of design.

| how is color perceived? | color occurs when light in different wavelenghts hits our eyes. the lighting of the room is also important.

| what is hue? | hue is the actual color.

| how do white and black lights occur? | white occurs when ALL the wavelenghts are reflected back into our eye. black occurs when NO light is reflected back.

| what are teritiary colors? | when you mix equal parts of 1 primary & 1 secondary. (example: red-violet, yellow-orange.)

| what are the colors in the color wheel called? | saturated colors because there is no white or black in them.

| what are tints and shades? | tints are saturated colors mixed with white and shades are saturated colors mixed with black.

| what are the warm and cool colors? | warm: red, orange, yellow, and sometimes pink. cool: blue and green. purple can be both warm and cool.

| what are the neutral colors? | black, white, gray, tan, and brown.

| what is a monocromatic color harmony? | when tints and shades of only one color are used.

| what is an analogous color harmony? | using three or more colors that are next to eachother on the color wheel.

| what is a complementary color harmony? | using two colors that are directly across from eachother on the color wheel.

| what is a triadic color harmony? | using 3 colors that form a triangle across the color wheel from eachother.

| what is a split complimentary color harmony? | usuing any color and the 2 colors next to it's complimenting color.

| what is a neutral color harmony? | any combination of black, brown, tan, white, or grey.
