Open Sentence   an equation or inequality containing one or more variables in which its truth or falsehood depends upon the values assumed by the variables in a particular instance, as the equation x + 3 = 8.

Equation   a statement that the values of two mathematical expressions are equal (indicated by the sign =).

Inequality   is like an equation that uses symbols for "less than"(<) and "greater than"(>) where an equation uses a symbol for "is equal to" (=).
