Altitudes, Medians, and Perpendicular Bisectors

Altitude   Segment from a vertex of the triangle, perpendicular to the opposite side (or line containing the opposite side) of the triangle.

Point of Concurrency   The point where three or more lines intersect.

Orthocenter   Point of concurrency of the altitudes of a triangle.

Median   Segment from a vertex of the triangle to the midpoint of the opposite side of the triangle.

Centroid   The point of concurrency of the medians of a triangle.

Circumcenter   Point of concurrency of the perpendicular bisectors of a triangle.

Incenter   Point of concurrency of the angle bisectors of a triangle.

Inscribed Circle   A circle inside a triangle where the incenter is the center of the circle and the radius is equal to the distance from the incenter to any of the three sides of the triangle.

Circumscribed Circle   A circle that contains all the vertices of a polygon.
