Even numbers   Numbers that divide by 2. They always end in 2,4,6,8 or 0.

Factors   Whole numbers that divide exactly into a number. They include 1 and the number itself.

Multiples   The results of multiplying a number by a (positive whole) number.

Common multiple   A number that is a multiple of more than one number.

Prime number   A (whole) number greater than 1 whose only factors are 1 and itself.

Prime factor   A factor that is also a prime number.

Common factor   A number that is a factor of more than one number.

Lowest common multiple (LCM)   The lowest multiple that is common to (the same in) two or more given numbers.
