| 1 | draw a line (optical axis) through center of lens&label focal point that is on same side of lens as object

| 2 | draw ray parallel to optical axis from top of object to lens&then have it refract away from optical axis as if it came from the near side focal point

| 3 | draw 2nd ray from top of object passing through centre of lens, this ray will not bend at all as it passes through lens

| 4 | since the rays diverge on the right side of the lens, extend them back with dotted lines and where they cross will be the top of the image
