1st Expansion.   Rome was a powerful empire and they got burned to the ground by Gaul and they started over and became even bigger,

2nd Expansion.   Rome battled Carthage and fought 3 wars called the Punic Wars. Rome won all three with Cato against Hannibal and burned Carthage to the ground.

3rd Expansion.   Rome was in trouble and the Empire was crashing. Spartacus was slave who lead a veto and was killed. Then Pompey and Julius Caesar fought and Julius Caesar won and the Senate named him dictator for life. Then the Senate killed him.

4th Expansion.   Caesar Augustus became Rome's first Emperor. And takes over a lot of Countries.

What areas did Rome get.   Gaul, Britain, Spain, Carthage, Egypt, Cyprus, Judea, Syria, Asia Minor, Actium, Greece, Macedonia, Italy and Sicily.

What accomplishments did Rome make in it's rise to an empire.   They conquered much land and influenced a lot of things that we do now a days.
