Term
Definition
Critical Point   where the derivative, or slope, of an equation is equal to zero
🗑
Point of Inflection   The point at which an equation changes concavity
🗑
Interval of Increase   Slope is positive
🗑
Interval of Decrease   Slope is negativity
🗑
First Derivative   When calculated shows slope of equation; when the equation is solved and is positive the slope is positive, when the equation is solved and the answer is found to be negative the slope is also negative
🗑
Second Derivative   When calculated shows the concavity of an equation; when the equation is solved and is negative the concavity is down while when positive it is up
🗑
Concavity   Curved like a segment of the interior of a circle or hollow sphere; curvature of the function
