reflection   A reflection flips a figure across a line.

congruent   Two shapes are congruent when they are the same shape and size.

similar   Two shapes are similar when they share the same shape yet have a different size.

translation   A translation occurs when a figure is slid to a new location on a graph. This is a type of transformation.

transformation   Transformation occurs when a shape is changed according to shape, size, or location.

three types of transformation   The three types of transformations include reflections, rotations, and translations.

x-axis   Movement occurs on the x-axis when the movement is shifted left or right, or in a horizontal position.

y-axis   Movement occurs on the y-axis when there is a shifting involving up or down motion.

cross products   Cross products are created by multiplying the numerator of one ratio in the proportion times the denominator of the other ratio.
