Question
Answer
What are the 3 states in a particle model?   solid, liquid and gas
🗑
Solid. In solids, strong forces hold the p________ together in a 3 d_________ structure. The particles in all solids move little/ alot. They do/do not change position, but v_______ to and fro.   particles, dimensional, little, do not, vibrate
🗑
Liquid. Explain the particles in liquid. How do they change position?   liquid particles have freedom and can move around each other. They slide over one another when changing position.
🗑
Gas. Explain the particles in gas. The forces of attracting between the particles are very small/big?   The particles move freely, moving away from each other and travel in all directions. When they hit each other, or the surface they bounce and change direction.
🗑
What happens when solids are heated? What happens when solids cools?   when heated, they expand when cool, it contracts
🗑
What would happen if two different strips of metals stuck together form a bimetallic strip? Ex, iron and brass. What situations can u use them for?   because different solids expand by different amounts for a given temperature rise. The metal would then bend. - in a fire alarm circuit
🗑
What is the boiling point? what is the melting point?   the temperature at which a solid changes into a liquid. the temperature at which a liquid changes into a gas.
🗑
Explain about the particles when liquid changes to gas.   As liquid receives more and more heat, its particles become more active. Eventually they become so active that they lose grip of each other and become gas. It can occur at the surface of the liquid or inside the liquid where the gas particles form bubbl

Review the information in the table. When you are ready to quiz yourself you can hide individual columns or the entire table. Then you can click on the empty cells to reveal the answer. Try to recall what will be displayed before clicking the empty cell.

To hide a column, click on the column name.

To hide the entire table, click on the "Hide All" button.

You may also shuffle the rows of the table by clicking on the "Shuffle" button.

Or sort by any of the columns using the down arrow next to any column heading.
If you know all the data on any row, you can temporarily remove it by tapping the trash can to the right of the row.
