Term
Definition
Intersecting Lines   Two lines that cross each other. Lines intersect at one point unless the lines are parallel or fall directly on top of each other (in which case they are the same line and are called coincidental).
🗑
Origin   The point of intersection of the vertical and horizontal axes of a Cartesian plane. The coordinates are (0, 0).
🗑
Proportional Relationships   A relationship between two equal ratios.
🗑
Slope   This is the steepness of a line and can be found by determining the ratio of the rise to the run between two points. Slope can be found directly when a linear equation is in the form y = mx + b and is represented by the letter m.
🗑
Unit Rate   A comparison of two measurements in which the second term has a value of 1. They are used to compare values. For example, the unit rate would help compare the costs of items in a grocery store.
🗑
Clustering   The grouping of a data set into subsets (clusters), so that the data in each subset share some common trait.
🗑
Outlier   An element of a data set that distinctly stands out from the rest of the data.
🗑
Linear   A relationship or function that can be represented by a straight line.
🗑
Non-linear   A relationship which does not create a straight line.
🗑
Rate of Change   The ratio of the change in the output value and change in the input value of a function. This is also known as slope.
🗑
Bivariate Data   Two different response variables that are from the same population.
🗑
System of Linear Equations   Two or more equations that together define a relationship between variables. There may be one solution, no solution, or infinite solutions.
🗑
Simultaneous Equations   Another name for a system of Linear Equations.

Review the information in the table. When you are ready to quiz yourself you can hide individual columns or the entire table. Then you can click on the empty cells to reveal the answer. Try to recall what will be displayed before clicking the empty cell.

To hide a column, click on the column name.

To hide the entire table, click on the "Hide All" button.

You may also shuffle the rows of the table by clicking on the "Shuffle" button.

Or sort by any of the columns using the down arrow next to any column heading.
If you know all the data on any row, you can temporarily remove it by tapping the trash can to the right of the row.
