Peak   a single mountain, or it’s top  
Pass   a low place, where it is easier to cross the mountains  
Mountain range   a group of mountains  
Mountain system   a group of mountain ranges  
Ridge   the land along to top of two connected mountains  
Glacier   a huge move mass of ice that flows across the land  
Mesa   a steep-sided hill that is flat at the top  
Foothills   hills near the bottom of the mountain  
Plateau/tableland   a large area of land that is flat at the top  
Piedmont   a plateau region extending from the foothills to a place where the land drops, also called a fall line  
Peninsula   an area of land surrounded by water on all sides but one  
Cape   a point of land that projects out into an ocean or sea  
Archipelago   a large group of islands  
Delta   a low, triangular plain  
Tributary   a river or stream that flows into a larger one  
Drainage Basin   the land drained by a river  
Divide   a ridge separating drainage basins  
Gulf/Bay   a body of water usually connected to an ocean or sea and is partly surrounded by land  
Inlet   a small bay  
Fjord   a long, narrow inlet with high, steep banks
