Gardenerella vgaginallis is? Normal flora
How do you diagnose it? Whiff (KOH) test; smell for fishy smell; CLUE CELLS
H. Ducreyi associated with? Lymphadenitis (smollen lymph nodes)
SYPHILLIS SYMPHILLIS
Primary symphillis? Disappears (no big)
Secondary: Skin rash ; Heals in weeks (1/3-->tertiary)
Tertiary: Lesions on skin
Quaternary syphillis: Dementia
Congential symphillis is bad when pregant during? Priamry and secondary stages-->stillborn
What is the teflon pathogen? Caues? Treponema pallidum (symphills); 4 stages, more AIDS
Non-gonorrhea urethritis: TITLE
What causes this? common? Chamydia trochomatis; most common bacteria STD
What do you suspect if you have trachomatis? What else about this? Co-infection w/ gonorrhea; increases AIDS chances
Diagnosis? Clear watery
GONORRHEAL URETHRITIS URETHRITIS
What can you get if untreated? PID (pelvic inflammatory disease)
What can it cause to newborns? Blindness
What kind of infection is it? Ascending
Order of infection: Urethrtis, cystitis (bladder) ureteritis, pyeoneprhtistis
What does leukocyte esterase test for? PMN infection
What do nitrites test for? E-coli
E-coli symptom of urine: Pink/cloudy urine
2nd most common cause of uretrhtris Is due to? Enterococci
What is it mainly due to? Nosocomial
What is Weil's disease? Leptospira in tissues
What does it affect: Liver, pulmonary hemorrhage
