What are major elements of the human body? oxygen, carbon, hydrogen, and nitrogen

What is a trace element? elements required in little amounts and found in part of enzymes

What is a neutron? has no charge and a mass of 1 amu
What is a proton? have pos. charge and mass of 1 amu
What is a electron? found orbitting nucleus and has a neg. charge and 0 amu
What is a planetary model? model in which electrons move around a nucleus in which electrons move around nucleus in fixed, circular orbits
What is a orbital model? model in which regions around nucleus in which electrons are most likely to be found
What is an atomic #? equal to number of protons
What is a mass #? equal to the mass of protons and neutrons
What is an atomic height? average of mass # of all isotopes

What is molarity? moles per liter
What is a mole? atomic or molecular weight (sum of atomic weight) in grams
What is a colloid? heterogeneous mixtures whose solutes don't settle out
What is a suspension? heterogeneous mixture with nisible solutes that tend to settle out
What is a mixture? can be homogeneous or heterogeneous
What are all compounds? homogenous only
What is an electron shell/energy level? surround nucleus of an atom
What is a bond? formed using electrons in outermost energy level
What is a valence shell? outermost energy level containing chem active electrons
What is the octect rule? execept for the 1st shell, atoms interact in manner to have 8 electrons in their valence shell
What is an inert element? hav outermost energy level fully occupied by electrons
What is a reactive element? doesn't have their outermost eenergy level occupied by electrons
