What is the zona pelcucida and corona radiate? Protective layer around secondary oocyte that must be penetrated for fertilization: The corona is far outside, zona is second layer penetrated
What happens at fertilization? Return to diploid number
When and where does fertilization occur? 12-24 after ovulation in uterine tube
What does the inner cell mass? What develops into the embryo
What is the trophoblast? the placenta
Where does cleavage occur? oviduct
What is implantation and where does it occur? When the blastocyst attaches to endometrium in uterus
What is the endometriuM? Inner ining of uterus
What is gastrulation and where does it occur? When the top cells in blastocyst go into the internal cavity to make room for a third layer
What are the three germ layers? Ecto, meso, endo
What is ecto? Nervous system and skin
Meso? skelatal, muscle

What are two methods of aging an embryo? Something the someites or the crown to rump length
When is the time period of an embryo? fertilization-8th week
What is a fetus time period? 8th week to birth
What is the importance of the placenta? PEP-production exchange, protection

Where is the amnion located? Roof of of epiblast, to become the protective cavity
Where is the yolk sac located? What is its function? The blastocyst cavity; it functions to be guy,
What is the allantois? Early blood vesser and bladder for cellular membrane
What is the chorion? (blank)
What is chorion? Surrounds embryo and yolk sac
What are the top three teratogens? Radiation, infection, metabolic imbalance
What is the neural tube? wall, rudiment
What are the phyrangial arches? Head and neck region
