Anabolism the building of substances using simple compounds to repair, grow, and promote function of the body; the building up of structures; Ex: muscle growth
ATP's (adenosine triphosphate) unit of energy obtained from the break-down of nutrients used by the body; produced in the body
Fluid balance at least 60% or more of adult weight is fluid; body is composed of a large amount of fluid; different types of fluid in the body: exra-cellular fluid, intracellular fluid
Extra-cellular fluid outside of the cell; fluid that bathes the cell; carries nutrients and transports waste products
Intra-cellular fluid fluid within the cell
Homeostasis balance; to stay the same; to stay in a steady state
