| Pretracheal Fascia | Posterior boundary called BUCCOPHARYNGEAL FASCIA | Thyroid gland, Trachea, Esophagus, Pharynx, Thyroid and Cricoid Cartilage |
| Prevertebral Layer | anterior border is continuous with 'anterior longitudinal ligament'. Posteriorly attaches to spinous processes. Elongated laterally by AXILLARY SHEATH | Majority of muscles of neck, vertebrae, subclavian artery, brachial plexus |
| Investing Layer | Superior attachment to skull. Inferior attachment to sternum, clavicle and scapula. Post attachment to spinous processes. | All pretracheal and prevertebral contents as well as trapezius, omohyoid, infrahyoid and sternocleidomastoid. |
| Carotid Sheath | Formed by pretrachela, prevertebral and investing layers of fascia | common carotid artery, internal jugular vein, vagus nerve and lymph nodes. |
| Posterior Triangle | Sternocleidomastoid, Trapezius and Clavicle. In betweeen investing and prevertebral fascia. | Accessory Nerve |
| Retropharyngeal Space | Anterior to prevertebral fascia and posterior to buccopharyngeal fascia. | Sympathetic Trunk. (Side Note: space allows for passage of disease or bacteria to spread from neck to chest) |
