Aerotolerant Anaerobe cannot use oxygen for growth but tolerate fairly well
Catalase An enzyme that breaks down hydrogen peroxide 2H202>2H20+02
Microaerophile An organism that grows best in an environment with less molecular oxygen (o2) than is normally found in air
Peptones short chains of amino acids, soluble fragments can be digested by most bacteria
Agar A complex polsaccharide derived from a marine algae and used as a solidifying agent in culture media
