Three things to remember when constructing any graph? Calibrate, label, key
mean average of a series of numbers
median the middle number
mode the number used most often
How do you calculate the mean? add all numbers together and divide by the number of numbers.
stray data outlier
variation variety in data
line graph shows the relationship between 2 types of information or data.
accuracy how close a measurement is to the actual or true value.
precision How close a series of measurements are to each other.
Percent error Real amount margin of error/scientifically accepted result x 100.
Margin of error Difference between the experimentally measured result and the scientifically accepted result.
Celcius Scientific scale to measure temperature.
Farenheit English scale to measure temperature.
Kelvin Absolute scale to measure temperature.
Base unit for volume Liter
Base unit for length Meter
Base unit for mass Gram
Base unit for time Second
Base unit for pressure Pascal Atmosphere
interpolation to predict point between the know points on a graph.
exterpolation to predict points that lie beyond the know points on a graph.
line of best fit the straight line that touches the most known points on a line graph.
