Psychoactive drug drugs that have potential to alter mood.
Receptor sites Specilized cells to which drugs can attach themselves onto.
Synergism Interaction of two or more drugs in which effects of drugs are more magnified.
Antagonism type of interaction in which 2 or more drugs work at the same receptor sites blocking the action of the other.
Inhibition A type of interaction in which the effects of one drug are eliminated or reduced by the presence of another drug at the receptor site.
Rebound effect Extreme withdral effects by drugs
Generic drugs Drugs marked by chemical name rather then generic name.
ANALGESICS PAIN RELIEVERS

AMPHETAMINES Stimulants that effect the nervous system
MArijuana chopped leaves from the cannabis hemp,psychoactive stimulant.
Opiates Oldest type of pain relievers, produce euphoria.
Psychedelics Distorts the processing of the sensory information
Deliriants Produces low leves of delirium at low doses. (PCP)
