unit 1 words about vocabulary

antonym a word that means the opposite of another word (noun)
concept a thought or an idea (noun)
context the words surrounding a word that makes its meaning clear (noun)
derivative a word formed from another word (noun)
effective able to accomplish a result; useful in bringing about a result (adjective)
glossary a list of definitions for terms or important words used in a certain text (noun)
retain to hold or keep (verb)
specialized having one use among many possible uses; specific (adjective)
synonym a word with the same, or nearly the same, meaning as another word (noun)
terminology vocabulary particular to a certain subject (noun)
