Steps to rescue breathing for children and infants ... give 1 slow breath every 3 seconds instead of 5

nose bleed sit down & lean slightly forward / apply direct pressure by pinching the soft part of the nose for 15 min./ place cold wet cloths on bridge of the nose / apply pressure for another 15 min.
strains an injury that results where a muscle or tendon is pulled to the point of tearing
sprains an injury that results when a ligament is stretched or torn
treatment for frostbite get medical attention as soon as possible / remove wet or tight clothing / rewarm the affected body parts by immersing them in warm water / apply dry sterile bandages / elevate the frostbitten area / watch for signs of shock
What to do for a uncontious victim. check the ABCs, lay them in recovery position
CPR cardiopulmonary resuscitation
ABC's of CPR open the victims Airway, look for signs of Breathing, check the victim's Circulation,
1st degree burn damages the epidermis
2nd degree burn burns through the epidermis into the dermis
3rd degree burn burns through the epidermis, dermis into the hypodermis and produces a charred appearance - requires emergency medical treatment
heat stroke heat and hydration causs the body temperature to rise uncontrollable, possibly leading to seizures and coma
shock body's blood pressure drops to a critical low as a result of blood loss or dehydration causing heart failure unless quickly treated
and injury inwhich a bone is forced out of its normal position at a joint dislocation
emergency procedures check ABCs, vital signs
steps to control breathing (blank)
treatment for muscle skeletal injuries apply a splint to immobilize the injured joint / apply a cold compres to the injury to reduce swelling / consult a physician
