Driver's Ed Test

Qualification for learner permit at least 16 years old, 80 or better on test, must be in good physical/mental health
Documents needed for learner permit Blue card, Birth Certificate/Green Card, Social Security Card, $10
Rules for Learner permit can only drive with driving instructor, minimum 6 hours of practice driving
Rules for Permit can only drive with a person that has an unrestricted license for at least 3 years, must have permit for 6 months, 5 a.m.-11;01p.m.
Provisional License Valid for 1 year, driver , and 1 friend or driver and husband, or driver and household members + 1 friend, 5 a.m.-12:01a.m, there are no restrictions if you have a person 21 or older in car
Unrestricted license valid 4 years, photo i.d.
Vehicle Registration Fill out form, prove ownership (cert. of title), sales tax, current insurance
Inspection sticker valid for 2 years
license plates min ht:12 in, max ht: 48 in, the rear license plate must be visible from at least 50 ft away at night.
Change of Address 1 week notice of change
Name Change 2 week notice of change
Insurance Rates property damage- 5,000, injured/death 1 person- 15,000, more than 1- 30,000
Alcohol/drug related (1st) lose license 6 months-1 year, fine $250-400, up to 30 Days in jail
Alcohol/drug related (2nd) lose license 2 years, fined $500-1,000, up to 90 days in jail, and 30 days CS
Alcohol/drug related (3rd) lose license for 10 years, fined $1000, up to 180 days in jail, and 90 days CS
Driving on DUI Suspension additional 1-2 years, $500, up to 10-90 days
Driving with no Insurance(1st) lose license for 1 year, fined $300-1000
Driving with no Insurance(2nd) lose license for 2 years, fined up to $5,000, 2 weeks, and 30 days CS
Drugs in possession lose license for 2 years, fined min. $50.
loaning a license to another person lose license 6 months, fined $25-100
Not telling truth when applying for a license lose license 6 months-2 years, fined $200-500, up to 6 months in jail
Refusal to take a breath test(1st) lose license for 6 months, fined $250-500
Refusal to take a breath test(2nd) lose license 2 years, fined $250-500
Reasons to lose license DWI or DUI, too many points, at fault in a fatal collision, Insurance fraud, leaving your car on the high way.
A driver that gets ___ pts in 2 years, their license gets suspended 12 points
More than ___ pts in more than ___ years, license is suspended (15) 12 points, 2 years
Failure to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk 2 points
leaving a scene of an accident with personal injury 8 points
improper turns 3 points
improper passing 4 points
passing a stopped school bus 5 points
reckless driving 5 points.
Habitual offender 3 violations in three years wil loose their license for 3 years
Insurance surcharge any driver that gets 6 pts, has a surcharge of $100, and $25 every pt after six.
