Pustules acne or acute impetigo =vesicles filled w/cloudy liquid
Wheals uticaria & insect bites, elevated, irreg. shaped areas of dermal edema
Erosions like varicella, wider than fissures involve only epidermis, often ass. w/vesicles, bullae or pustules
scales exfoliative dermatits & psoriasis, visibly thickened stratum coreum, dry usually whitish
Ulcers such as stage III press. sores, go dermis & sometimes subq
Crusts & oozing Eczema & late stage impetigo dead serum or pus on the surface w/ liquid beneath
Lichenifications chronic dermatitis, thickened areas of epiderm w/accentuated marking-caused my rubbing & scratching
Fissures athletes foot, linear cracks in epidermis sometimes 2 dermis
Atrophy striae & aged skin
