What is lordosis? | exaggerated curvature of the lumbar spine |
What is coliosis? | exaggereated lateral curvature |
Assess joints for? | warmth, inflammation, edema, stiffness, crepitus, deformities, tenderness, limitations, or instability |
What is hypertrophy? | enlargement of muscle due to strengthing |
what is atrophy? | a decrease in muscle size due to disease |
What is alert? | client is responsive and able to fully respond |
What is lethargy? | client canopen the eyes and respond, but is drowsy and falls asleep readily |
What is abtundation? | the client needs to be lightly shaken to respond |
What is stupor? | the client required painful stimuli to achieve a brief response |
What is coma? | there is o response to repeated painfl stimuli |
What is decorticate rigidity? | flexion and internal rotation of upper extremity joints and legs |
What is decerebrate rigidity? | neck and elbow extension, with the wrists and fingers flexed |
How do you assess recent memory? | ask the client to repeat a series of numbers |
How do you assess remote memory? | ask the client to state his birth date |
How do you assess level and fund of knowledge? | ask what he knows about his current hopitilization |
How do you assess ability for calculation? | ask to count backwards |
How do you assess judgement? | ask about what solutions they would pick |
How do you assess though process? | changing topics |
How do you assess thought content? | presence of delusions, hallucinations, and other ideas |
What tests assess balance? | romberg and heel to toe walk |
What is two point discrimination? | using papter clips to determine the distance at which the two points are felt as one |
What is stereognosis? | put object in clients hand and ask them to identify |
What is graphesthesia? | ask the client to identify a number drawn on his palm |
