| brudzinski's sign | passive flexion of the head and neck causes flexion of the thighs and legsindicates meningeal irritation |
| kernig's sign | inability to extend the leg from 90 degree flexion at hip due to pain spams in hamstrings indicates meningeal irritation |
| Nuchal rigidity | tests for pain and stiffness in the neck |
| lhermitttes sign | electrical sensation of sever pain that travels down spine when chin is tucked. |
