Relief for common pregnancy discomforts

Epistaxis T1 cool mist vaporizers, no nasal spray
Excessive salivation T1 mouthwashes, gum
Heartburn T2&3 small frequent meals, antacids, avoid lying down after meals
Ankle edema T2&3 avoid prolonged sitting or standing, elevate legs
Varicose veins T2&3 wear support hose, avoid crossing legs and sitting or standing for long periods of time
Hemorroids T2&3 ice packs, ointments, warm soaks, avoid constipation
Constipation Increase fluids, fiber and exercise, stool softeners as recommended
Backache pelvic rock exercise, proper body mechanics, no heavy lifting
Leg cramps dorsiflexion, heat, stand slowly from sitting position
Faintness avaoid prolonged standing in warm enviorments and sudden changes in position
Dyspnea proper posture
Flatulence diet, exercise, avoid constipation
Carpal tunnel syndrome avoid repetitive hand movements, use splint as prescibed
Round ligament pain apply heat to the abdomen
