TSH Thyroid stimulating hormone stimulates thyroid
ACTH- adreoncorticotropic hormone stimulates hormone production in adrenal cortex of adrenal glands
PRL- prolactin stimulates milk production in breasts
FSH- follicle stimulating hormone stimulates eggs in ovaries, sperm in testes.
LH- lutenizing hormone ovulation (females) sex hormone secretion (males)
ADH- Antidiuretic hormone promotes reabsorption of water from kidneys, decreases water excretion.

Thyroxine (T4) Triiodothyronone (T3) increases metabolism in body cells. Needed for normal groeth
Calcitonin increase calcium in bone, decrease calcium in blood
PTH- parathyroid hormone Increase calcium in blood, decrease calcium in bone
Calcitriol-hydroxycholecalciferol Active form of Vitamin D works with calcitonin and PTH to regulate calcium in blood and bones
Epinephrine adrenaline fight or flight response, act as nuerotransmitters increase BP, Increase HR, Dialates bronchiole
norepinephrine fight or flight response act as nuerotransmitters
Cortisol main hormone in glucocorticoids
cortisol released during stress to increases nutrients in blood
Aldosterone main hormone in mineralcorticoids
Aldosterone regulates water and electrolyte balance maintains normal BP
Sex hormones produced in small amounts, little effect on body
insulin Lowers BS. active transport for energy metabolism
Glucagon Raises BS. causes release of stored glucose into blood stream

Melatonin regulates sleep/wake cycle. controlled by light. delay onset of puberty.
