What is the definition of GOVERNMENT? The activities, methods, and principles involved in managing a political entity, usually a state.
What is the definition of TOKEN LINK? Relationship based on one entity's subordination to another entity, usually as part of a vow of loyalty.
What is the definition of PROTECTORATE? A country that is controlled and defended by a more powerful country.
What is the definition of DOMINION? A self-governing nation that acknowledges as chief of state the leader of another nation.
What is the definition of COLONIAL DEPENDENCY? A territory where the responsibilities of government are vested in an external power.
What is the definition of COLONY? A territory occupied by a colonizing state involving the establishment of settlements and extraction of economic resources.
What is the definition of SOCIETY? People in several large organized communities who live on a territory.
What is Aristotle's theory about the emergence of city states? Aristotle saw the emergence of city-states in four phases. List the four phases and say what their characteristics are!
What is Plato's ideal state vision? A government that is by the people and for the people.
Which were the two groups of individual human relationships considered by Aristotle to be at the base of any human community? These were the relationships between men and women and between masters and slaves.
What constituted the basis for Aristotle's taxonomy of community development? His research on the natural world.
What is the meaning of Zoon Politicon? Humans are a species at the top of the natural world (zoon) able of rational thinking and favouring existence in communities (politikon).
What is the definition of CITY-STATE? A complete and self-sufficient community, which originated as the logical culmination of natural order, and survived because it was the best guarantee of a good life for its citizens.
What is the definition of DYNASTY? A series of rulers who all belong to the same family.
