Gas permanen -Sifat konstan dan jumlah tetap -Nitrogen 78%, oksigen 21%
Gas variabel -Berbeda-beda di tiap tempat. Tergantung kondisi cuaca, iklim, dan aktiitas manusia -Terdiri dari: argon, uap air, karbon dioksida, metana, nitrat oksida, ozon, dan parrtikel (aerosol)
Troposfer -Terbawah -Di kuub tebalna 8 km, di khatulistiwa 16 km -Tempat terjadina cuaca dan iklim: hujan, awan, angin -Makin tinggi, suhu makin turun. -Dibatasi lapisan inversi/lapisan isothermal yang bernama tropopause
Kenapa suhu troposfer makin ke atas makin turun? Karena pemanasannya dari bawah bukan dari atas
Tropopause -Bersentuhan langsung dengan permukaan -Didominasi oleh turbulensi dann proses pertukaran panas, kelembapan, dan momentum dengan permuaan -Ketebalan dari 10 m-2 km -Temperatur berkurang seiring naikna ketinggian -Atas: inversi
Stratosfer -Atas troposfer sampe 50-60 km -Makin tinggi, suhu makin tinggi -Mengandung mayorits ozon atmosfer sehingga menghasilkan suhu maksimum di stratopause -Tempat terjadina nacreous cloud/polar stratospheric cloud
Kenapa suhu sratosfer makin tinggi makin panas? Adana la[isan ozon ang menerap sinar UV, saat diserap menghasilkan panas dan akhirnya panas disebar di lapisan ini
Mesosfer -60-80 km -Suhu udara turun seiring dengan naikna ketinggian dengan ang terdingin -90 C di mesopause -Tekanan udara berkurang karena lemahna gravitasi -Bakar meteor jd debu. Hasil pembakarannya dalam kondisi tertentu akan menghasilkan noctilucent cloud
Termosfer ->80 km -Terekspos langsung oleh radiasi matahari, dipanasi matahari -Udara sgt tipis, jadi nambah energi dikit meningkakan suhu secara signifikan -Mencakup ionosfer di mana lapisan atmosfer dipenuhi oeh partikel bermuatan -orbit pesawat ulang alik
