What is the difference between Endocrine Glands and Exocrine Glands? Endocrine glands secrete hormones within the body. Exocrine glands secrete chemicals outside the body through ducts. (Sweat, tears)
What is the difference between Diagnosis and Prognosis? Diagnosis is the complete knowledge gained after examining and performing tests on the patient. Prognosis is a prediction made after the diagnosis of what the likely outcome will be.
What is the difference between a Carcinoma and a Sarcoma? Carcinoma is a cancerous tumor arising from lining cells of internal organs. Sarcoma is a cancerous tumor arising from bone, cartilage, muscle and fat.
What is the difference between Anemia, Leukemia, Leukocytosis? Anemia is deficiency of red blood cells. Leukemia is a cancerous condition of high numbers of abnormal white blood cells (leukocytes). Leukocytosis is only a slight increase in normal white blood cells as a response to infection.
What is the difference between Laparotomy and Laparoscopy? Laparotomy is a large incision of the abdomen to explore or remove organs and tissue. Laparoscopy is a visual exam of the abdomen using small incisions for insertion of scope to view and remove organs and tissues.
