What are the last two regulations you need as the P.S.S? 8.Have staff qualifivations. 9.Maintain consumer records and tracking of services.

Regardless of services or help that people recived in health care and human services, they do not lose the rights protected for all of us by the U.S. They have a right to make their own decisions about the services they receive. True or False? True
What is Incapacity? Someone(he/she) is impaored by reson of mental illness or deficiency, disability, or other cause to the extent that he/she lacks sufficient understanting or capacity to make or communicate.
What is a Guradian? A individual or State agency appointed by the probate court to make decisions on behalf of a perosn who is incapacitated.
What can the guraian has the authority to make decision of the consumer(Ward)? Where the ward lives, were the ward will go to a nursing or boarding home, and what medical treament the ward will recive.
If the person affrairs value is under $5,000 and it exceed over this amout, the court does what? Give the cosumer or ward a Conservator.
What is a Conservator? They manage the money and propety of the consumer they are now called Protected Person. And they can Conservator pay the bills and invest the money of the consumer.
There are three advance directives, what are they? Durable Power of Attoney for Health Care. Living Will, and DNR order.
What does DNR stands for? Do Not Resuscitate
What is a Durable Power of Attorney for Health Care? It lets you chooose another person to make decisions for you when you are too ill to make decisions about your own care and the P.S.S make sure they have a copy of that documtion of the right services they provide.
What is a Living Will? It allows a person to express his/her wishes about the end-of-llife decisions in the event the individual has a terminal conditon and can no longer communicat with his/her doctor.
What is a DNR Orders? A request not to have CPR if a consumer stop breathing or his heart stops beating. The P.S.S must have proof of the DNR.
What is CPR? CardioPulmonary Resuscitation.
If the consumer said that he/she have a DNR and has no proof, what do you do? *One more question on DNR* Ask your supervisor if they have the DNR of the consumer.
What is Abuse? Infliction of injury that cause harm to the person.
(answer*a)What are the indicatiors of abuse? Broken bones, burns, cuts, internal injuries, marks/bruises, and scars. Can also be verbal.
*a What is Sexual Abuse? Contact or interaction of a sexual nature without the adult's consent.
*a What are the idicatiors of sexual abuse? A family members offers gesturs to a cosumer, injury to a consumer's genitals, consumer attemps to talk to a icapacitated cosumer into sex, the consumer family tells you that the cosumer offers sex, family vist takes to long of a vist.
(do to word limt there are two more indicatiors of sexual abuse) Staff members exposes his/her genitals to a consumer. And veneral disease, torn; stained or bloody underwear, difficulty of walking or sittting, and pain or itching in gebital area.
*a What is neglect? A threat to a person's health that got lack of need or protection.
*a What are indicatiors of neglect? left alone and unsupervised, aide has fallen asleep or intoxicated, cosumer has bleeding gums and loose teenth, consumer is fearful about leaving his/her room or home, staff "leave her/him be" rather try to help, and consumer fell several days ago.
*a What is exploitation? Illegal or improper use of a cosuner for his/her resources for another profit.
*a What are the indicatiors of exploitation? Cosumer can't pay the bills, the family members buy furniture or clothing not intended for the cosumer, consumer is manipulated into giving money or personal property, and dissapperance of personal property.
*a What are the cosumer rick factors? Argumentative, asssult, demanding, hostile, incompetent, incontinent, intrusive, manipulative, mute, aggressive, or verbally abusive.
If the consumer has the risk factors do you loose your cool and lash out of them? NO, rember that is not there falt they may have a history of it or they are simply that way. Tell them polily to stop. After you can report it to your supervisor.
*How often does the DNR must be re-signed? Every six mouths.
