seismologist is someone who studies earthquakes.
seisomographs are machines that measure the strength or magnitude released by an earthquake
seismic waves Are tremors that radiate out known as rock waves.

shallow earthquake found close to the earths surface (less than 80km) most common and dangerous .

secondary waves slower than primary waves and travel through rocks .the shake up and down

the magnitude of the earthquake the stronger the earthquake the more damage it caused
Seismic Gaps is the length of time bln the earthquakes in an area
Tiltmeters were used to measure any bulging of the earths surface
seismometer a machine used to measure the magnitude of seismic waves , then displayed on a computer .

liquefaction occurs when consolidated material such as sands and gravels mis with water are shaken vigorously and turned into liquid mud that cannot support strutures and cause then to fall
