South America vocabulary

Terrace strips of leveled land built into the hillside that are planted with crops

Artifacts a human-made object which gives information about the culture of its creator and users
Empire a group of territories that are under the control of the same leader or government
Territories a geographical area under the rule of a government
Pampas wide, treeless plains of South America
Patagonia a sparsely populated region at the southern end of South America
States a politically organized territory
