Warfarin Drug-drug interactions Has documented drug-to-drug interactions with a vast number of other drugs, do not eat green leafy vegetables when on heparin
Discharge teaching for client on anti-coagulation therapy -brush teeth softly with soft bristle tooth brush -wear medical alert bracelet -instruct on warning signs of bleeding -instruct pt to obtain follow-up labs regularly
Urokinase indications lysis of PE or PE with unstable hemodynamics in adults
Urokinase actions Converts endogenous plasminogen to plasmin, which breaks down fibrin clots, fibrinogen, and other plasma proteins, lyses thrombi and emboli
Urokinase adverse effects headache, angioneurmtic edema, hypotension, skin rash, bleeding, breathing difficulties, bronchospasm, pain, fever, anaphylactic shock
Clotting factors and liver disease Liver disease, in which clotting factors and proteins needed for clotting are not produced
