Name and explain 2 factors affecting agriculture in India. Climate and soils have influenced agriculture in India.
Explain how Climate has influenced agriculture in India. India has a tropical climate with high temperatures (20-30 degrees), throughout the year. -This has influenced crop types that people grow. -Tropical climate allows production of crops, eg: rice and sugar, which require high temperatures.
Explain how the influence of soils have affected agriculture in India . Soils have influenced pattern of primary economic production in India. -In South-West state of Kerala deep, fertile red soils are found allows production of coffee. - Kerala is main coffee- producing state in India.-Rice requires fertile soils
Name a region in India that has produced rice in the primary sector and explain. Rice is grown in the Ganges region , in India. -The monsoon floods in October have led to the fertile, alluvial land, which has lead to the planting of rice.
Explain how livestock has aided farming in the region you have studied. India has the largest livestock farming inn the world. -They do pastoral farming in India and this has lead to increase in work in the primary sector.
Name another type of farming done in India and explain this. Another type of farming done in India is the tea trade. -India is the world's biggest tea producer and most of it is exported. -Tea must be picked, dried, sampled and exported. -Tea grows best ast altitudes of 1000m, eg: Himalayn mts.
