What is a Nevi ? | Also known as moles, are probably the most common benign skin tumors. These lesions, which can be pigmented or depigmented, develop from melanocytes during childhood, usually between 3-5 years of age. |
What is Hyperhydrosis ? | Excessive sweat production |
What is Anhidrosis ? | Decreased sweat production |
What happens in Hidradenitis suppurativa ? | Sweat glands become obstructed and inflamed and tender areas of swelling develop under the arm or in the groin |
What is Acne Rosacea ? | • Inflammation of the sebaceous glands • Affects Middle-Aged adults • Appear in the middle third of the face but may extend to the forehead and chin Can affect the nose by producing an unsightly, irreversible swelling and inflammation called rhinophyma |
What is Acne vulgaris ? | A common multi-factored inflammatory disorder of the sebaceous glands, affects 85% of the population between the ages 12 to 25 years Lesions are inflammatory papule, pustules, nodules, non inflammatory open or closed comedones, and cysts |
What is Actinic keratosis ? | A premalignant lesion found on skin that has been damaged by the ultraviolet rays of the sun, is common in fair-skinned persons Lesions present as patches of rough, scaly, red plaques |
What is Lentigo ? | A premalignant skin lesion, that usually appear as brown spots that appear on sun-exposed areas Commonly called liver spots, or age spots |
