federal sytem a system of government with a strong central government and local government units
proportional representation a system in which a political party gets the same percentage of seats as its percentage of votes
revenue income
pipeline a series of connected pipes used to transport liquids or gases
radioactive giving off energy caused by the breakdown of atoms
fallout radioactive particles from a nuclear explosion that fall through the atmosphere
half-life the time needed for half the atoms in a radioactive substance to decay
contaminate infect; unfit for use because of the presence of unsafe elements
