Menopause | The cessation of release of eggs by the ovaries. |
Climacteric | The transition during which a woman's reproductive capacity ends and ovulation stops. |
Neurofibrillary Tangles | A normative age-related change in the brain involving the production of new fibres in the neuron. Defining characteristic of Alzheimer's. |
Neuritic Plaques | A normative change in the brain involving amyloid protein collecting on dying or dead neurons. Defining characteristic of Alzheimer's. |
Parkinson's Disease | A form of dementia defined by a cluster of characteristic motor problems: very slow walking, stiffness, difficulty getting in and out of chairs, and a slow tremor. |
