Name two types of geography Human geography and physical geography
What is Geography? The study of the world, it's people and the landscapes they create.
What is a region? a part of the world with one or more common features.
What are the five themes of geography? location, place, region, movement, human-environment interaction
What is absolute location? a specific, exact place
What is relative location? a general area (north, east, south, west)
What is culture? the set of beliefs, values and practices that a group of people has in common.
How is culture developed? passed down learned cultural diffusion
What is a multicultural society? a variety of cultures or ethnic groups in the same area.
What is cultural diffusion? the spread of culture traits from one region to another.
What is globalization? the process in which countries are linked to each other through culture and trade
What is popular culture? culture traits that are well-known and widely accepted like music, food and sports.
What is interdependence? when countries rely on each other for resources
What is the United Nations (UN)? a organization of world's countries that promotes peace and security
What is humanitarian aid? assistance to people in need, such as hurricane relief.
What are the characteristics of limited government? written constitution free and fair elections protection of human rights leaders follow laws limits on government
What are the characteristics of unlimited government? No/weak government no/unfair elections government uses intimidation no laws for leaders no limit on government
What is a constitutional amendment? adding, deleting or making changes to the constitution
