Define Amendments a minor change in a document
Define Statute a written law passed by a legislative body
Define Subcommittee a committee composed of some members of a larger group
Define Veto a constitutional right to reject a decision or proposal made by a law making body
How does a bill become a law? Someone had the idea, writes the bill, goes through and passes committee, passes through both houses of congress, goes to the president, the president decides to pass the law or veto it, if vetoed both houses must vote 2/3 majority to pass the bill, if so
Define Expressed Powers powers delegated to the national government in so many words
Define Implied Powers Not expressly stated in the constitution but reasonable suggested- implied by expressed powers
How are the seats in the House distributed, and what qualifications must members meet? There are currently 435 seats in the House. Seats are distributed based on the population of each state, with each state guaranteed at least one representative.
