Overview of A & P

A + P and their subdivisions, and the principle of complimentary.

Anatomy Structure of body parts and their relationship to one another.
Physiology The function of the body. (Carries out activities that keep us alive)
Gross/Macroscopic Anatomy The study of large body structures. (Can be seen by the naked eye)
Regional Anatomy The study of structures in a particular region of the body.
Systemic Anatomy The body studied system by system.
Surface Anatomy The study of internal structures as they relate to the overlying skin surface.
Microscopic Anatomy Studies structures to small to be seen with the naked eye.
Cytology The study of cells.
Histology The study of tissues.
Palpation Feeling organs with your hands.
Ausultation Listening to organ sounds with a stethoscope.
Manipulate Working a joint.
Principle of Complementary of Structure and Function Function is dependent on structure, and that the form of a structure relates to its function.
