Program Philosophy The nursing program endorses the vision, values, mission and goals of Pima Community College (PCC). The nursing faculty believes the primary goal of the program is to prepare graduates with the knowledge and skills for direct employment in the local comm
Nursing Process The nursing process is a five-step systematic method of critical thinking for organizing and giving client care. The nursing process includes assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation.
Client A client is an individual and a member of a family, group or community. A client has biophysical, psychological, sociocultural and spiritual dimensions that interact dynamically with the environment.
Health Health is a state of optimal functioning or well-being. Health is influenced by the capacity of the client to adjust to actual or potential health alterations, therapeutic nursing interventions and the environment.
Environment The environment is everything internal and external to the client. Environmental factors are major factors in determining therapeutic interventions used by the nurse to enhance the health status of the client.
Nurse The nurse is a safe practitioner, an effective communicator, a manager/teacher, is culturally competent/caring, and demonstrates professional/ethical behavior.
